“Hi, I'm Jayne, the founder of Serendipity. It all began in Chipstead in 2007 with the first incarnation, with just one beauty treatment room and one nail tech station, then moving to larger premises the following year with four treatment rooms and nail stations. The business went from strength to strength despite various challenges, until the Pandemic of 2020 quite literally ended the business as we knew it. As a sublet premises, there was no financial help made available to us and despite my best efforts and the enduring support of some amazing clients, the money ran out before we were permitted to open up again. Everything was lost, even my home was in jeopardy with no income at all. By a series of happy coincidences, a little luck and with the help of a bounce back loan, Serendipity was to rise again like a phoenix from the ashes, in new premises and in a new town. Hello, Serendipity Merstham! From empty, sad looking shop unit to brand spanking new salon in just three weeks, the business really took off in its new home, winning the Muddy Stilettos Salon of the Year Award in the first year, an award we have now won twice. I am incredibly proud of the business and of my amazing team.

I have a passion for skin care and working with my clients to try and help improve self esteem: I believe that there is beauty in every stage of life and we should embrace it, see the beauty and stop looking for the flaws. In this age where we are encouraged to filter the life out of every image, it is so important to keep perspective, to realise that what we see on the surface of the images we are bombarded with isn't necessarily real, nor to be aspired to.  I am a good listener and always have time to hear a problem & offer support and advice where I can. My passions are for skin, helping people with a variety of concerns, and for remedial massage, helping people in pain.  I love receiving a massage and should have them more often!  The product I couldn't do without? That would be my Environ Skin EssentiA moisturiser.  It really does so much for my skin and Environ products solved my pigmentation issues before I brought the range into salon. In my spare time, I enjoy keeping fit, going to the theatre and to rock concerts, and walking with my dogs. I look forward to seeing you and showing you the Serendipity difference."

"Hi, I'm Emma. I started working with Jayne when Serendipity first opened in Merstham in 2020 and I have progressed to Salon Manager, taking over the day to day running of the salon as Jayne decided to take a step back in 2023. I love my work and enjoy looking after all my clients' beauty and massage needs. I am passionate about skin care and love helping my clients with their skin concerns, building the confidence and really making a difference.  My favourite treatment to give is relaxation full body massage, and my favourite treatment to receive would have to be a facial. The one product I cannot do without is my Jane Iredale BB cream foundation. I love that it is good for my skin as well as providing the coverage and perfect colour I need... that and my self tanning products! I'm a mum to two gorgeous boys and in my spare time I love going out for long walks: we are very spoilt with many beautiful walks locally, and my family had grown recently with two fabulous Frenchies. I love spending time with my family and going out to different restaurants. I can't wait to see you for your next treatment!"

“Hi, I’m Christina. I studied beauty straight from school in my birth country, Greece, where I attended university and gained my degree in beauty therapy. I continued my beauty journey in various salons in Surrey, after moving to England with my husband.  I love all things beauty, and making my clients look and feel great. I love receiving all treatments too, just wish there was more time to have them! I had a young son who keeps me and my husband on our toes outside of work.”

Hi, I’m Jess. I’ve always been around the beauty industry as my mum worked in the film industry doing makeup when I was young the moved into beauty therapy and I followed suit. I had a huge passion for beauty from the moment I trained. I was with my last salon for 8 years, prior to having my children, developing my skills and learning about more in-depth treatments from there. My favourite treatments are brows and facials. I love any treatment that makes a visual difference and makes the client feel great about themselves. The treatments I love having are deep cleansing facials: A Hydrafacial is my go-to! My hobbies include running (I try and love it, not sure I ever will!), going for dog walks with my Frenchie, Bruce, and of course racing around after my two little girls, Willow and Tigerlily.”

Although Saturday working is a must in our industry, these are worked on a rota basis with team members so nobody has to work every Saturday.
